Going Home
Remember
On This Journey
On this trek
You Said…
You were
Homeless…
No roof over your head
Body Heavy as lead
Carried by tired achy legs
And yet…
With every step
That you took
Something In You
Knew
The Further That you walk
The Closer You Are
to God
And with Each and every
Step
You Began to
Reconnect
And Let
Go
Of what You thought you used to Know
Even when Doubt
Would ebb and flow
Bringing You
so…Low
Not Knowing
Where on Earth
To Go…
Something In You
Seemed to Know
Though at times it Felt so…
hard
To Lie there Alone
In the Dark
In a Shattered Body
In a Broken Heart
Yet
as you Looked Up at the Stars
You began to Realise
Just how Far
You have Come
In a Way
That no
One
Could Truly Understand
But you can
You Can
You walked Alone
Carrying
A Heaviness in your Weary Bones
A Mind Exhausted and Worn
A Heart Ripped and Torn
Stung by a Past
full of thorns
The Devil on your back
full of scorn
You Ran for your Life
Through Heavy Storms
And you Remembered
Who You Are
Before you were born
And You Carry On
You carry on
The Sun beats down
And the Waves crash
Transforming
The Face of Earth’s Land mass
Taking longer than time
The Divin e
Light Shines
Throughout It All
Your Spine Straightens
Walking Tall
Hearing God’s
Call
Knowing Greatness In Being small
The Ocean breeze Whips
Wandering along the edge of Cliffs
And The Spirit Lifts
Your Spirit
Lifts
As You
Walk along
Old beaten paths
Checking your map
Getting Lost
And circling back
Wanting to cry
And wanting
to laugh
Finding your
Self
On different Path
to what You had Planned
You Fall a Part
Then Hold it Together
Crossing Bridges
Fording Rivers
Taking Shelter
Under
The Trees
And as the wind blew
a Way the leaves
You came to See
The Trees All seem to Know
Even when
strong Winds Blow
Still
They Stand
Infinite
grains of Sand
Perish each day
Washed
a Way
Reclaimed
By a Sea so Vast
It seems to Last
For Ever
Together
We walk along the beach
Feeling
Underneath our feet
Something
We
can never
Truly Comprehend
How Li fe
Goes on again
And Again
End
lessly
Rebirthing
I t
Self
In every rock and each shell
In each Wave and every Swell
Nature tells
Her Story
To Soothe Us when we Feel lonely
Only
A step
A
Way
Only
A Breath
We Pray
I Remember the days
I spent Locked a Way
Afraid
Inside
I Hide
Scared
Of All this Pain I’ve had to Bear
And a Story that goes Unheard
Cause no One was ever there
Yet
All along
some
how
some
where
Somethin g
In side
Cared
And as I Battled my Way
Through Heavy Wind and Rain
The Light
Came
And Washed The Pain
Ahhhhh
Way
Again
And again
The End
In Sight
The Earth
Inside
Purging
it’s Hell
Rebirthing
It
Self
In Nature
We Find more
Than We were
Expectin’
As I Gazed upon my own
Reflection
I Discovered
Sometimes
God
Leads You
On a course
Different
From what you’d Known
Before
And as I Walked
Through the Hills and Glens
I Began
To Comprehend
What This Life
Has Meant
Journeying through
My own Homeland
I Came to Understand
It Is
All Part of
God’s Plan
This Whole Life
I Believed
I was on my own
but
Through the Wilderness
As I Roamed
I Remembered
All along
I had Known
What It Is
To Be
Home
In Mother Nature
We
Are
Never Alone
In This World
There is a Map
And on It
There are roads and paths
Where so Many
Have Left their tracks
And after that…
They…
Disappear
Where They Go
It’s not All ways
Clear
But Now
The Time is Near
To Let
Go
of the Fear
and
Remember
Why We Are
Here
Though there may come
Many Tears
The Soul would
Cheer
Just to have made It Here
To have made it
Here
And so
It’s come Time to say
Goodbye
As like so Many
I too must die
Throughout This Life
I’ve Cried and cried
And Now I Know Why
I
No longer fear Death
I Know It’s just another
Step
And
Let
Go
